Although I have not purchased Dr. David Hogg’s eBook, from his website info, I would comment that other herpes treatment programs have promoted herbs and correct dietary choices to control herpes virus outbreaks whether there are cold sores (HSV-1) or genital herpes sores (HSV-2). 

Depending on the herbal preparation and the integrity & strength of the base ingredients, herbal medicine can have a positive effect on human ailments. In my experience, however, the herpes viral is a very strong agent to battle with herbal remedies alone considering that the public is usually buying commercial preparations of sometimes unknown efficacy. 

The dietary route—where one usually eliminates certain herpes inducing foods, may work for some. There are certain amino acids (protein building blocks) that are needed to control & heal herpes outbreaks, such as L-Lysine. Other certain amino acid rich foods can exacerbate a herpes outbreak, they say. 

One excellent position this naturopathic doctor from California  does take is that ANTI-VIRAL chemotherapeutic drugs are not a good route to go. On this website, the eBook cover doesn’t display the author’s name. She signs it at the end of the website—I think it is Natalie Foy. Her first name is sited throughout, however. Ms. Foy has a really good marketing approach with the most convincing position to teach from—she has genital herpes AND now she has it under control. Her rational position as a self-directed physician of her herpes condition appears to be a user-friendly & lay-accessible use of herbs, dietary choices, plants & plant extracts. She also mentions using stress reduction techniques. 

There appears to be nothing harmful about her natural treatment regime to treat herpes infections, especially genital herpes (HSV-2). It would follow that her treatment regime would also would for cold sores caused by herpes (HSV-1). For some folk, if their immune systems need a nutraceutical refreshing for optimum performance, then this may help a lot with their herpes outbreaks. The outbreaks may be minimized in frequency & even stop. For some sadly this may not work so perfectly but a balanced nutrient-based approach cannot usually harm either. 

I would comment that her most important offering that may not be marketed as aggressively for genital herpes treatment is her stress reduction techniques. 

Mostly herpes virus outbreaks are related to stresses,--other viral infections such as the common cold, over-heating (sunburn), fatigue (chronic lack of enough healthy sleep), poor nutrition (the immune system must be fed properly, especially will enough proper protein), over or under exercise and hormonal imbalances (for reproductive-phase & menopausal women hormonal imbalance is a regular part of their existence), etc.

This website is really good at marketing to the lay population. Author Jeff is identified as JJ. He has interesting testimonials. We don’t know if he has herpes, in particular genital herpes. He seems to be selling to the whole crowd of herpes sufferers whether they are in the cold sore (HSV-1) group or the genital herpes group (HSV-2). He uses number charm—just seven secrets and the cure, almost cure is yours… Very good marketing technique! His website info basically tells you nothing of what his “cures” are but states they are natural. His mini-science section is really well done. Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) causes both herpes sores above the waist & below the waist AND the cold sore variety (HSV-1) can cause genital sores, it has been recently found to be. Likely this is because of the N.A. sexual habit change in the past decade or two,--to avoid pregnancy, go the ORAL &/or ANAL sexual engagement routes, was the new mandate. Oral sex with some one with canker sores that are herpetic, could give you genital herpes. Never forget the non-clinical shredders—no sores—but they are shedding the virus that you can pick in close contact. His best bit on herpes is for you women—you are more susceptible to getting herpes virus infections. He’s right & here’s why: you have the most to lose, if you become pregnant & are not medically managed properly—your baby at worst, could be brain damaged.

This older woman identifies herself as a motivated sufferer with herpes virus infection. She is not a medical person but has done her research as best as she knows how to do. Her website info only gives you general clues to her natural remedy for herpes infections, whether they are the cold sore variety (HSV-1) or the genital herpes sore variety (HSV-2). 

Marguerite states that she uses three immune system boosting natural ingredients that help keep herpes form erupting. She allows in her prevention approach, teaching on how herpes transmission occurs. Then to me, her most interesting natural healing offering is in the area of herpetic PAIN. There is lots of pain associated with herpes sores, especially with the initial infections in your life. She talks of healing OILS that are very inexpensive that help reduce pain. The highly priced cold-pressed, small seed oils and/or essential oils are both expensive. Is she talking about omega 3 (EFA) & omega 6 (EFA) ratio-balanced natural pressed vegetable oils that are taken orally? I know that our highly process vegetable oils (a major ingredient in our modern N.A. diet) are imbalanced as far as essential fatty acids (EFA’s)& their ratios go. When balanced & present in natural fats and oils, they help with the body’s prostaglandin equilibrium that does mediate PAIN.  

Her website is excellent in terms of a picture is worth a thousand words. She shows huge pictures of herpetic sores on places of the body that are not common. It looks like a third world plague outbreak. 

As to whether any of her natural remedies will work for you, remains to be seen. She at least does stand against the doctors’ anti-viral chemotherapy route.

These herpes sore cure treatment products appear to be rich in the chemical known as DMSO or dimethyl sulfoxide. It’s medical usages date back to around 1963 when Americans found it could penetrate the skin and other membranes without damaging them and could carry other compounds into a biological system.

This means that paraplegia and/or quadriplegia was avoided by this basic medical intervention. This may be hearsay medicine but likely there is some truth to it. 

DMSO travels like certain alcohols along human nerve tracts, very swiftly and effectively. If DMSO kills viruses by acting as a dissolving solvent of the virus’s fatty (lipid) and or protein coat, it will help rid the nerve ganglia of the herpes virus nest resting there in latency technically. At the least it should be able to KILL the fresh herpes virus particles being shed by active herpes sores. 

A word of cautious to the customer that would think they are buying the perfect DMSO product from any herpes-cure-product salesperson. If their company does not produce a product that has the right strength of DMSO or makes it into a compound that is user friendly but no longer a potent virucidal  (killer of virus), than your hopes of perfect herpes relief, based on my technical analysis of pure DMSO chemical applications, will be dashed.

This is an interesting medical approach to herpes virus infection cure whether it is for cold sores (Herpes simplex Type 1) or for genital herpes (Herpes simplex Type 2). I have found that homeopathy can work very well for certain individuals, for certain medical conditions during certain periods of the sufferers’ life. It’s complex how the human body processes this established modality of medical treatment. Established allopathic medicine (your regular doctors) has many who still oppose homeopathy as a scientifically, effective treatment method and prefer their harsh, fast-acting pharmaceutical drug regimes.
