Herpes
Urethritis
URETHRITIS as a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) and
HERPES as a CAUSE
The urethra
is the small tube which moves urine from your bladder to the
opening where you void urine. For women, the urethra ends at
the floor of her vagina nearest the vulva, outside lips
of the genital area. For men, the urethra ends at the end of
the penis and is easily visualized by anyone in the circumcised
male, where the foreskin covering of the head of the penis has
been removed.
Urethritis is the inflammation of the urethra, which usually is
the result of an infection by microbes, such as standard &
unique bacteria, viruses & protozoa or auto-immune disease,
chemical irritation or other growths.
Clinical signs of urethritis in both sexes are watery or cloudy
discharge, burning or tingling or itching while or after
urinating or urgency for frequent urination, similar to which
is experienced with a bladder infection scenario.
The most common bacterial cause of urethritis as an STD is
GONORHEA, which is easily treated with common antibiotics. A
less common cause is the protozoa, trichomonas which is readily
susceptible to common antibiotics.
Another big sector of urethritis causes recently identified
worldwide has been labeled NONGONOCCOCAL URETHRITIS (NGU).
Unique bacteria such as Chlamydia and Mycoplasmas have led the
way as the cause of NGU worldwide. Over a half million new
cases a year are diagnosed in the U.S. alone, and equally in
the sexes, though 30% of the males and 70% of females may show
no symptoms, although they are infected. They are carriers and
if untreated and will infect others usually during vaginal,
oral or anal sex. Both Chlamydia and Mycoplasma are readily
treated with common antibiotics.
Some researchers claim that genital herpes is a cause of NGU,
although they report that they expect to see external genital
sores on the genitalia as well at the same time. It may be
possible however that genital herpes is limited to microscopic
lesions of this sensitive region, the urethra &/or bladder
linings and no visible sores are seen by the other sex partner.
Then the infected lover is known as a carrier.
Some cases of NGU do not appear to have a microbe infection, so
they are grouped under nonspecific cause.
One source states that the three common causes of nongonococcal
urethritis (NGU) are gonorrhea, Chlamydia and GENTIAL HERPES.
Other research sources claim that genital herpes rarely causes
urethritis. This doesn’t make sense medically to
me,--especially if herpes-below-the-waist in 10% of cases is
the cold sore variety or Herpes simplex Type 1. Herpes simplex
Type 2 is known as genital herpes and can also cause cold sores
above-the-waist which are quite severe.
Herpes virus grows readily in mucous membranes, more readily
than it grows on the skin around the mouth or nose, or the
buttocks, anus and thighs. If the mucous membranes of the
urethra are open and exposed to viral particles of Herpes sores
on the penis,--why wouldn’t the herpes virus infect the male’s
urethra and the female’s urethra during coitus which provides
body fluid emissions as a transfer medium?
The best way to deal with atypical (not common) or should we
call it more typical than the medical community wants to admit
to,--genital herpes infections that manifest as urethritis is
to topically treat herpes skin sores in the region with a safe
chemical that KILLS the virus on contact, so the sores are
stopped immediately from being infective and to ENHANCE one’s
immune system to deal with the mucus membrane genital herpes
sores, using naturopathic means.
Than is, one can consider a balanced diet (you need some meat
protein to keep producing protein rich antibodies, etc.),
lowering alcohol consumption and other drug abuses along with
quitting smoking. Stress reduction is best done with adequate
exercise, adequate sleep and time to enjoy life. Herbs,
especially Chinese herbs can be potent immune system function
enhancers,--but be careful-if they work well, they are natural
drugs that can poison your system by misuse, but not usually to
the degree their pharmaceutical cousins can.
The new pharmaceutical virus chemotherapy is a severe choice
for most herpes victims, whether they suffer from genital
herpes or cold sores, if these individuals are otherwise
healthy.
